Agency

"As long as humans have the power to alter the environment, they will do so based on human values - the only values that are ascertainable."

Terry Anderson

The natural habitat of Galapagos is increasingly stressed.  In order for the world to enjoy this pristine ecosystem it is imperative we start to act now.

There are currently 30,000 permanent residents on the islands as well as a floating population of over 5,000.

In order to ensure the long term sustainability of the natural resources on the islands the local residents need to have "agency" over the resources.

At Free Galapagos our ultime goal is to empower the population to assume total control of the destiny of the islands, ensuring an alignment between resource management and its sustainability.

Projects

Our projects are aimed at creating a tangible impact on the ground. From education to environmental sustainability, we are committed to driving positive change and fostering a sense of community empowerment.
